Rose earned her BA degree in English from Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, SD. "Thank you Dr. Mary S. Weinkauf for challenging me to write sixty poems in one semester! I enjoyed playing with many poetry forms. You really started my poetry career." Rose also learned journalism and practiced creative writing. She participated behind the scenes of play staging. Rose earned her BS degree in Business from Excelsior College in Albany, NY.

Rose is a life-long learner and participates in the Alliance for Continued Learning (ACL) sponsored by East Tennessee State University (ETSU) in Johnson City, TN. She was honored to be an instructor for creative writing classes in the Spring session of 2007. Rose also coordinated other class instructors when she served on the program committee in 2008.
