Rose was born and reared in Rapid City, South Dakota in the heart of the Black Hills. Her family has deep roots there for three generations. She resided in Rapid City throughout her growing up years and returned many times. Rose also lived in Black Hawk, SD (outside Rapid City) for a few years.
Before retiring in the Tri-Cities area of Northeast Tennessee in the Appalachian Mountains, Rose visited all 50 states .
Rose lived in several states and one foreign country: South Dakota = Rapid City, Black Hawk, and Mitchell Nebraska = a dormitory at Chadron State College in Chadron Colorado = a dormitory at Colorado State College (in Greeley) and Denver Wyoming = Cheyenne Montana = Helena Maryland = Fort Meade, Glen Burnie, and Greenbelt Greece = Iraklion Air Station, Crete
In 2005 Rose was blessed with completion of her federal government career after working more than 20 years for Veterans Administrations in South Dakota and Montana, three military locations: Ellsworth Air Force Base; Iraklion Air Station; and Fort Meade, Maryland. Rose also worked in three Washington, DC agencies: Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Energy and the Administrative Office (AO) for the US Courts. Her last federal position at AO was writing and editing procurement regulations. Her federal positions most often involved contracting or procurement. Her skills came in handy for writing contracts, negotiation documents, letters, standard operating procedures and regulations.
Rose's ongoing ambition is to write, write, and write. However, she's learned there still are only 24 hours in a day!
