Poem in Your Pocket Contest 2011 The Award Ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, March 31,2011 at 6:30 PM in Room L-226 in the Basler Library on the Northeast State Community College campus in Blountville, TN. The winning poems will be posted on PST-NE's new website http://pstne.weebly.com after the award ceremony. I congratulate all the winners. There was keen competition. I wish I could award each and everyone who entered. I'm glad I was not one of the judges. We received 128 poems from 56 poets in 9 states in all age categories. Not too bad for the first year. The winning poems are being printed for daily distribution during National Poetry Month in April. I do thank everyone for participating. It has been a lot of work, but very rewarding to see so many wonderful poems.

The last half hour from 11:30 to noon is devoted to a brief business meeting to report on discussions by the Steering Committee and to vote as necessary. The members generally meet afterwards for lunch and to socialize at a local restaurant in Gray, TN. Dues are currently $20 per year, which includes membership in three organizations: PST-NE, PST, and NFSPS (National Federation of State Poetry Societies); an annual anthology of Poetry Society 1st place winning poems is available for an additional $5, quarterly newsletters, and reduced entry fees into society sponsored contests. e-mail: rose at roseklix dot com for further information.
